Ok, so we're a little late this week due to some tech issues but better late than never!

These are hope stories, they are NOT prescriptions, and every person's body, environment, lifestyle, etc... is different, so please, please, please seek medical advice and get a second or even third opinion preferably from a doctor who has been schooled in the benefits of a plant based diet. In a nutshell: See A Doctor. xx Corinne

This week I had the pleasure of interviewing 19 year old Naimh (pronounced 'Neve') Warren who went vegetarian at the age of 14, and was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome at age 16.

Naimh advised that during her adolescence she experienced irregular periods, difficulty losing weight and had a terrible relationship with food.

Naimh's PCOS resulted in surgery to remove a large cyst on one of her ovaries and another 25 cysts were present.  At 18 years of age, Naimh went vegan and noticed the effects of this lifestyle change within the first week. Naimh claims her skin cleared up almost immediately, she lost 12 kg, found she slept better and 2 years on from going vegan, she had an ultrasound to check on her PCOS and found she had ZERO cysts on her ovaries!!

Although Naimh's PCOS results are incredible, one of the biggest highlights for her has been her improved relationship with food. Naimh previously spent her life in a vicious cycle of binging and restricting/yo-yo dieting and feeling as though she was addicted to food which I think many of us can relate to. After adopting a low fat, whole food, vegan diet, Naimh finally felt in control of her eating and began to listen to her body and eat more nourishing, whole foods free from guilt.

Naimh recommends joining online groups for support and motivation such as Vegan Girls Melbourne on Facebook and researching vegan versions of the meals that you enjoy such as, mac and cheese and try to make cooking fun!

Naimh was kind enough to leave us with a handful of her best tips for overcoming both binge eating and PCOS:

Binge Eating Tips:

1. Start listening to your body

2. Eat good foods with zero guilt

PCOS Tips:

1. Consume a low fat, whole food, vegan diet

2. Listen to your body.

3. Exercise

4. Sleep well

5. Meditate

This interview rapidly turned into a chat about all things vegan which I hadn't planned for but I hope has a lot of useful bits and pieces for anyone who just enjoys listening to people discuss the benefits of a whole food, vegan diet or veganism as a whole like we do! ;-)

Enjoy and if you haven't yet, please SUBSCRIBE to this podcast on iTunes or Stitcher app and if you could take the time to leave me a 5 star rating (presumptuous much?! ;-)) and a kind review, I would be so grateful as your support helps get these messages of hope out to people who might really need it. Thank you in advance.

Wishing you stupendously good health always,

Love Corinne xx
