Hello and Welcome to Episode 81 of The Corinne Nijjer Podcast!
As we edge closer to the our 100 episode anniversary, I am feeling more and more aware of what this podcast means to me personally, that this podcast is not only a collection of hope stories, it is much more than that. This podcast shares peoples most intimate stories of transformation, those moments when we enter the what feels like the deepest sense of darkness in our lives and we make a choice, a choice that feels unknown but known at the same time. That moment when we choose ourselves, even when many of us have know idea who that person is, and many of us have spent our entire lives hating the person we saw reflecting back at us in the mirror. We chose us without knowing who were were and it was through choosing us, that we began the journey of finding us and falling in love with that person with whom we had so deeply despised for so many years.
The healing journey is truly a ‘coming home’ for many of us. This podcast is about gathering up all the pieces of ourselves that we have lost along the way and piecing them back together, not to form the old, familiar version of ourselves that feels comfortable and easy, but to discover a version of ourselves we never knew existed. A version of ourselves that is more brilliant, more beautiful than we could have ever imagined.
Hear on in, this podcast will be featuring more guests that can help us to bring those lost pieces together, people who are experts in their fields and whose work has inspired me personally and helped me to unravel my own story and let go of some of the shame and disconnection that has lead to many of my own self sabotaging behaviours throughout my life.
Next week we will be having the always lovely Maya Bedson from The Gawler Foundation on the show and she will be sharing a bit about her work and the many benefits of meditation before sharing a beautiful meditation with us all and I’m so very looking forward to having her on the show.
This episode, I was so excited to have Glenn Livingston on the show, author of Never Binge Again. Glenn is a veteran psychologist and was the long time CEO of a multi-million dollar consulting firm which has serviced several Fortune 500 clients in the food industry. Glenn has sold $30,000,000 of marketing consulting services over the course of his career. You may have seen his (or his company’s) previous work, theories, and research in major periodicals like The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Sun Times, The Indiana Star Ledger, The NY Daily News, American Demographics, or any of the other major media outlets you see on this page. You may also have heard him on ABC, WGN, and/or CBS radio, or UPN TV.
Disillusioned by what traditional psychology had to offer overweight and/or food obsessed individuals, Dr. Livingston spent several decades researching the nature of bingeing and overeating via work with his own patients AND a self-funded research program with more than 40,000 participants. Most important, however, was his own personal journey out of obesity and food prison to a normal, healthy weight and a much more lighthearted relationship with food.
You can find more from Glenn at the following links:

Books: Never Binge Again
Thank you so much Glenn for coming on the show and I am looking forward to having you on the show again in the future to go more deeply into this topic because I know myself and so many others have struggled with binge eating and food addiction and this is such a complex issue and sensitive issue for so many.
If you or someone you know has been struggling with binge eating or food addiction, Glenn’s book Never Binge Again is a very useful tool if you are open to moving past your own comfort zone to create a new food plan and relationship with food that you know will work for you for life.
I would love it if you could take a moment to SHARE this episode with your family and friends on social media or in the line for the bathroom, or with friends over dinner, stories like these have helped me on my own healing journey more than I could ever have imagined so I know that, even though these stories might not be for you, somewhere, someone needs to hear exactly what Glenn has to say, (or any of my other incredible guests). What the guests on this show have shared might be the key to unlocking an entirely new, and magnificent world for someone and that’s the whole point of this podcast, to allow people the possibility that HOPE exists, that there might just be another, brighter way future out there and that that way future, might exist for them too…
Thank you to all of you who have taken the time to share this podcast online and thank you all so much for listening and supporting me in my passion to get these hope stories out there each week, it truly means the World to me.
Wishing you all the most brilliant and beautiful lives always,
Love Corinne x
