Welcome to Episode 14!
This week I interviewed Holistic Nutritionist and Gut Engineer, Natalie Woodman about all things Microbiome!
This topic truly fascinates me ever since I discovered the impact on the gut and microbiome on immunity and chronic disease several years ago when I was searching for my own answers on my MS journey.
In this interview Natalie gives us so much great information about our gut bacteria and how the quality and types of foods we eat, either perpetuate or prevent disease and what we can all do to start changing our own microbiomes for the better.
Through her work as a holistic Nutritionist and her online programs and support, Natalie has helped people to improve their own gut health and overcome conditions such as:
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
One of my personal take aways from this interview was the need to include more of a wide variety of whole, plant foods in order to give our good bacteria all the fibre and essential vitamins and nutrients it needs to thrive.
We also covered:
Supplements, such as B12, Iron, etc..
Where do you get your protein on a plant based diet.
Complete Proteins and how to ensure you get everything your body needs to build and maintain muscle and thrive.
Low Fat Diets - Fad or Fiction?
Where to start if you're considering making the transition?
What to do when your partner doesn't want to make the shift to a plant based diet with you?
Do you have to be 100%?
Is Coconut Oil all it's cracked up to be?
And Natalie's Top Tips when starting out.
